Another Day Is Gone

Last night, I cleaned the house until the wee hours in the morning. And today I woke up early to prepare the food and I made sure that the house was ready to accept guests. And by noon, the guests started arriving and I was kept busy till seven in the evening. I was so busy I didn't realise it was over when it was over. And by the time I realised it was indeed over, I was so, so glad. It's not that I was not happy. I was. I entertained an old friend who came with his spouse and a very cute little baby boy and some students too. And of course the relatives who never failed to spice up the festive atmosphere but the whole event left me so tired and worn. But I am thankful because everything went well and everyone enjoyed themselves. It couldn't have been so successful if not for my family members who rallied together and of course to Him who made everything possible. One day is over and I just realised that the days pass so quickly they are gone even before I realise it. It's like I am on the expressway of life, heading for the final destination that is miles away yet I am approaching it very soon. Sooner than I think I thought.
