24th May, 2 old boys came back to see me. Peeranin and Chin Jie. They have grown so much. They look, speak, think and conduct themselves differently. I am very happy with the change because despite all that, they are still respectful! So hard to find teenagers who know where they should stand these days and use the correct registers when speaking to different groups of people.
That day, I heard from the school librarian that Jon Loo was looking for me but I was in a meeting. If that was true, I am so sorry to have missed the opportunity to catch up with him. I really do hope to speak with him.
25th May, a few others came back to say hello. I think they were Darren, Aaron (the funny chap), Abraham, Jovian (now so very tall) and Difeng. I was extremely happy to see them again but unfortunately, I was busy handling something else that day so much so that I had to cut our conversation short. So sorry guys. I took the opportunity to thank Darren for the tubs of ice cream he and his friends 'smuggled' for me. I was glad I could express my heartfelt thanks to him because of all the thoughts and troubles he and his gang had to go through....for me? Oh so touching!
I always look forward to the end of term, not only because it is really time for me to take a well deserved break but also because I know, some big chaps will take some time off their hectic schedule to come and see me! You know, these little nice gestures do keep me going that little extra mile. These little gestures tell me that I had done something worthwhile back then. And that these little gestures make me feel appreciated. So, to these boys, thank you so much for your little kind deed.
Should I not be in the same place at the same time somewhere in the near future, will these little gestures appear to brighten up my day? Only time will tell.....
