He has rested in his final home.
My uncle passed on last week, 16 March 2008, after spending many weeks in the hospital.
He was only 57. He left his wife, 4 children and 3 grandchildren.
He left them with a lot of good memories, enough wealth to last them through and, most of all, he left them a legacy only his family knows.
When I heard the news that he had left all of us,
I was sad but glad. He had gone through a lot of pain and the sight of him on the hospital bed was just unbearable. People came to visit him and they said they felt the pain. He must have felt even more. So, I was glad God finally took him away from us, away from the pain. He was cleansed and we were warned. All during the days he spent in the hospital.
Yesterday, I went to the visit his resting place.
I was humbled by the experience.
It's the place we will all go to, one day.
A place where there is no room for others but ourselves,
no place for family, friends and loved ones,
no place for all things earthly.
What we will bring with us is our spirit,
whether whole or tainted.
A choice we are free to choose.
